The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the acquisition of new customers by leveraging Tecala’s full portfolio of support and service offerings across all business units. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Conducting proactive account and territory planning, managing the sales pipeline, and sourcing, qualifying, and closing new sales opportunities.
  • Executing independent business development activities by leveraging personal networks and Tecala’s market incumbency.
  • Partnering with the Marketing team to design and implement targeted business development activities and campaigns.
  • Applying effective time-management strategies to ensure the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Contributing to the creation of compelling sales proposals and presentations in collaboration with the technical pre-sales team.
  • Working closely with pre-sales to ensure customer variations are accurately approved and managed throughout the sales process.
  • Providing guidance to Finance and Service Centre Operations regarding contract inclusions, exclusions, and scope to ensure customer outcomes are clearly defined and deliverable.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive solution-sales experience within an ICT organisation, covering the Sydney/NSW markets.
  • A strong understanding of the operational environment of an end-to-end Managed Services Provider, with particular value placed on experience selling cloud, network, and managed services.
  • A proven ability to identify, develop, and convert new business and sales opportunities.
  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of technology across a wide range of IT products and services.
  • An understanding of emerging industry trends and how they may influence business outcomes.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to establish and maintain trusted business partnerships across all organisational levels.
  • Knowledge of consultative sales methodologies and the ability to adapt selling techniques to match the buyer’s journey.

Reviewing Applications

We pay attention to ensure we give all applications fair consideration. We will look at your experience and skills to see if you are potentially suitable for the position. Reviewing all the applications can take a couple of weeks so please bear with us – we will be in touch.

Shortlisting

If you’re shortlisted, our talent team will contact you for a phone screen interview. The phone screen interview will last approximately 20 minutes and we will go through your work experience, skills and knowledge, salary expectations, notice period.

Competency/knowledge assessments

Depending on the role. You may be invited to complete technical knowledge or behavioural assessments. It could take up to 1 hour to complete and primarily assess your suitability for the role.

The first formal interview will involve getting to know you, your skills and experience to date, and your technical ability and knowledge based on key criteria of the role. This session can take up to an hour and maybe in person or video call. You may be asked to complete an activity or come in for a second interview.

After a successful interview, our Talent team will be in touch advising of our intention to make an offer. Before a final offer, we will conduct professional referee and background checks. With your permission we may also need to do some other pre-employment checks, ie: police check – depending on the position.
