From our very beginnings we looked at technology differently. That’s meant taking some bold departures from the norm along the way so that we can always discover new ways to deliver brilliant outcomes for our clients.

First, we grounded our business in building partnerships, not contracts. This hasn’t changed, and never will. Our clients will always come first.

Then came something that was unlike anything seen from a tech provider. While others continued to push products, we redesigned our entire business to focus on what our clients were actually asking for: the seamless delivery of ICT services. The result was the transformation of our business model to one where we provided technology as a ‘service’.

Being first movers, we invested heavily in new technologies, people, and innovative services. We recognised that our clients didn’t need a supplier. Instead, they needed a technology navigator and strategic partner – someone who would filter out the noise and make cutting-edge technologies accessible to them and understood how to apply these for the best results.

We can do this so effectively because we’ve changed the usually difficult, cumbersome, and restrictive adoption of technology into agile and strategic IT deployment. And that’s exactly the way we like it. By creating service solutions that deeply affect the way our clients work means that you experience rapid growth. That’s our goal.

1997: Tecala was founded in the early days of the internet.

As a strategic tech consultancy and solutions provider, we serviced and helped Australian businesses and government agencies who sought to roll out their infrastructure project and develop their technology roadmaps in an increasingly connected world.  

2006: Tecala helped to virtualise environments with emerging technology 

When virtualisation took off, we were amongst the very first providers who helped transform the tech environments of leading organisations. Simultaneously, we introduced a full suite of ICT solutions and project management services.

2008: Tecala introduced managed services and IT support solutions.

Once again, we were amongst the very first in Australia to roll out a deep and broad portfolio of managed services. As technology was becoming more complex and our clients had to manage multiple technologies and platforms, we worked hard to remove that burden from them. 

2010: Tecala invested in building its own cloud platform (Sydney & Melbourne) to enable our clients’ rapid growth.

With the early emergence of cloud technology, we saw cloud technology as the future enabler of innovation and competitive advantage. Again, we were amongst the very first tech providers who built their own private cloud at scale. 

2011: Tecala made a client-first decision to build the broadest and deepest ‘IT as a service’ solution offering.

We understood that our clients didn’t have the bandwidths, internal resources, and capital to invest in and maintain pace with the market’s rapid evolution. Nor did they have the entire technology stack needed. Our ‘IT as a service’ consumption model helped make emerging technology available to everyone, no matter their size.

2013: Tecala built and deployed its own telecommunication core, adding further agility to our clients’ growth plans.

Off the back of our innovative services, we built our own telecommunication network to further aid our clients’ growth. From day one, our telecommunications core provided secure, highly available, and high performing networks for voice and data.

2015: Tecala rapidly scaled its capabilities in managed services, technologies, people, and the services offered.

With our history and experience in the cloud, we began to build, deploy, and manage IT platforms at scale across Australia. A business native to Sydney, we increased our expansion across Australia’s capital cities.

2017: Tecala enhanced its capabilities to assist its clients’ ability to leverage public cloud solutions.

We understood that our clients needed the gamut of assistance, when it came to the cloud -understanding its possibilities, moving to it, and planning how to get to the next level. We became a true hybrid cloud provider by offering a breadth of solutions such as Private Cloud, Public Cloud, PaaS, and SaaS which enabled clients to leverage the power of hybrid cloud.

Present: Tecala boasts a proudly local, Australian team of technology experts, who are obsessive about the quality of the outcomes we jointly deliver for our clients.

We continue to grow and so do our clients. Always looking forward and investing in new cutting-edge technologies such as; SaaS, cyber security, and hybrid cloud we are now the strategic technology partner for some of Australia’s most progressive companies.
