The Leukaemia Foundation target “every blood cancer in every way” they possibly can. Their relentless determination and effort in changing and saving lives has never been stronger. The World’s Greatest Shave has now been running for 23 years and over 2 million Australians have taken part during this time.
Funds raised from the appeal provide affected families with the care they need by covering costs of daily life such as rent and bills. As well as supporting the crucial continued research into blood cancer treatment. “We shave as the ultimate act of solidarity and to send a powerful message of hope to the 47 Australians who are diagnosed with blood cancer every single day.” – The World’s Greatest Shave
Our very own Pieter DeGunst, Lee Apps, Anthony Truong and Michael Faraz put their locks on the blocks for this worthy cause, raising an incredible $9,526 for the appeal.
Pieter DeGunst, Managing Director, Tecala, says, “I’m passionate about giving back in a variety of forms, one of which is regular support to worthy charities both personally and with Tecala’s help. This quarter we elected to support the World’s Greatest Shave to support the Leukaemia Foundation in their fight against blood cancer.
In recent years, like unfortunately many of us have experienced, the impact of cancer has taken on a far more personal and profound effect, as my friends and family battle this disease. Both myself and Team Tecala Group are always looking for ways to support various good causes dedicated to research, prevention and curing cancer!
This March we selected The World’s Greatest Shave, which supports The Leukaemia Foundation in their effort to diagnose and treat blood cancer more effectively! Their goal? Zero lives lost to blood cancer by 2035!”
