Want to go multi-cloud? Let’s talk about Tecala, Azure and AWS.

Cut through the multi-cloud hype with Tecala. We’ve been building hybrid and multi-cloud environments for years, and are ready to help you.

There is a lot of talk about hybrid cloud and multi-cloud, but what does that mean in the real world when you’re trying to run a business? In this blog we will take a look at what’s possible when you combine the expertise of an MSP with the rapid service delivery of cloud.

The business case for multi-cloud

First up, let’s get to the “why?”. Companies are interested in using a combination of clouds for good reasons.

Different applications call for different hosting options and there is no such thing as one cloud fits all. Taking a multi-cloud approach can ensure that differing workloads are catered for as economically as possible. This can significantly increase an organisation’s ability to deliver services and innovate.

By engaging with an MSP, like Tecala, certain applications (operational and innovative) can be hosted on your choice of equipment which a public cloud provider might not offer.

At the other end of the spectrum, a public cloud typically has levels of automation that dramatically shorten the procurement cycle compared with in-house IT.

Tecala Managing Director, Pieter DeGunst, said the company is living and breathing multi-cloud, not simply talking about it.

“With multi-cloud we are supporting customers’ choice. The customer can have choice of Azure, AWS or other clouds like Google and Salesforce, and benefit from a partner that can support them through the journey.”

“We are vendor agnostic and we’re here to help customers avoid cloud lock in and spiraling costs.”

Whatever the requirement, multi-cloud done properly can give you a real competitive edge. Customers can take advantage of multi-cloud with no technical work required. Get the resource consumption benefits with none of the setbacks.

Getting multi-cloud right

With years of experience in building multi-cloud environments, Tecala has developed a world-leading multi-cloud practice. We support a multi-cloud or hybrid approach across Azure, AWS and our own Tecala public cloud and pride ourselves on offering the best approach for our customers.

For it to be most effective, multi-cloud (like regular cloud adoption) must be managed properly.

The multi-cloud network imperative

Multi-cloud success depends on a solid network to underpin it. We can connect you to AWS or Azure from our network core and provide Tecala customers with WAN Internet and load balancing as a service.

The Tecala virtual data centre functions as the customer’s own DC and we give them a presence in a tier-1 facility such as Equinix or NextDC, so there is good connectivity to public cloud in a private fashion with direct connect services.

Simply put, you get your own pipe, but we manage all the network complexity and security.

Enjoy the benefits of Azure and AWS without the expense of a direct connection with peering. This allows us to extend the Azure or AWS network into Tecala over our own virtual private connection for a fraction of the cost.

Peering allows us to communicate with the cloud as if it was on our own network, reducing the number of “hops” in the multi-cloud architecture and removing the network configuration burden.

Providers need to be approved to do peering with the public clouds and we make sure data ingress and egress, i.e. the traffic traversing the public Internet, is managed properly.

As an MSP with peering status, we demonstrate actual execution of a multi-cloud strategy, from strategy to operations. Customers can seamlessly go from our data centre to a public cloud and extend to their own network if they are using Tecala network services.

Discover the most appropriate multi-cloud strategy for your business. With Tecala, you’ll be supported through a seamless transition, where we’ll take the time to understand the needs of your business, apply the right strategy and carry out the implementation for you.

Get the benefits of multi-cloud without the cost or complexity with Tecala.
